Ray Of Hope......

What is Ray Of Hope ?
Ray of Hope is a joint social project of St.Peter's Church, Ipoh and St.Augustine's Church, Buntong, Ipoh. It is a nonprofit centre to train and help children with learning disabilities within the age group of 6 - 19 years old.

The Aim....
To continue supporting and monitoring children who have completed the Early Intervention Program (EIP, age 1 - 6 yrs) as they progress into the school. This Programme is to complement their development and help integrate them into the mainstream schools. These supplementary classes are to enhance the development of these children so that they can fully benefit from the education system.

When Did It Begin?
We have commenced in early January 2001 at the Mission House of St. Augustine's Church in Buntong, Ipoh. It is known as ROH Centre One. ROH Centre Two was started in 2004 for the second level children.

Should you feel led to support this social concern project, please send your donation to St. Peter's Church office at 1-A, Fair Park, 31400 Ipoh and make cheque payable to RAY OF HOPE.

The Fund Raiser
A food fair was held on 1st January 2001 at St. Peter's Church compound. We have raised RM100,000 for this social concern and community project which has lasted us for two years. Another food fair was held in 2003 with another RM100,000 was raised. We have designated some of this fund of the Development Fund for future expansion. We are now sourcing a right location to house our two centres and to have some extra activities and programmes which are not possible right now in the present premises. We hope and count on your continuous support in prayers and in finance. The estimated annual expense is around RM50,000.

Official Opening
Bishop Lim inaugurated the Official Opening of ROH on 24th March 2001.
